Sources of Law in Ghana;
Article 11 of the 1992 Ghana Constitution states that the laws of Ghana shall comprise: The Constitution Enactments made by or under the authority of the Parliament established by the Constitution [or legislation];
Any Orders, Rules and Regulations made by any person or authority under a power conferred by this Constitution [or subsidiary or subordinate legislation]; The existing law or the written and unwritten laws of Ghana that existed immediately before the coming into force of the 1992 Constitution]; and The common law [or the English common law, English doctrines of equity, and the rules of customary law]
The Criminal and Civil Law Internship Program in Ghana is one of the most highly recognized legal internship opportunities in Africa. It has been described as one of the finest pre-law experiences available and has been consistently ranked as one of the most hands-on internship programs. The interns are assigned to either one or two attorneys in the trial division for whom they are to complete all investigative aspects of the assigned cases.
Duties and Responsibilities.
This is a good time you will spend in gaining experience relevant to your future law career, you will also contribute to administrative and clerical duties, including but not limited to performing administrative duties, doing research on cases, preparing legal documents under the guidance of a mentor, going through legal cases, understanding the case details, attending court hearings, jotting down the important points during case hearing and handling a number of other similar tasks.

There are no set start and end dates and programs run continuously throughout the year, so we can easily fit your schedule. These allow volunteers to join us on a flexible time frame in creative projects. Whenever volunteers arrive and at whatever time, we will be waiting at the airport for them with all the details for their project fully prepared. This flexibility also allows people to combine programs, to live and work with friends, and to work at the placement which inspires them most.

Monday to Friday, Starting at 08.00 am
25-40 hour week
5. Transport:
Dependent on where you are staying, not more than 60 minutes travelling time. Part by commercial mini bus/taxi and part walking.
